Before The Madness Starts - Buxton

Ok ... so next week is a real mental busy one!

So I'm gonna post here now coz im not sure how much time I'll get next week.

Buxton - Is still the most beautiful place in this part of the UK (midlands) superb scenary, lovely place, great pubs and nice people.
Getting there we discovered that it was Buxton Carnival weekend, now  I dunno what your town is like, but here in our home town I would say that civic pride is pretty low, I mean the place is a dump anyways, but come to carnival time, there is a parade, the obligatory carnival on the park the normal crap demonstrations of local martial arts clubs, dance troupes and brass bands, come tea time .. its all packed up, everyone is at home, apart from the litter, you would never know there was a carnival! 

But the Buxton Carnival, WOW, not a carnival so much as a festival! streched over a whole weekend, busy all the time and EVERYONE is there, live bands food, so much effort put in (not that I'm suggesting a lot of effort isn't put into our local carnival .. but you cant polish a turd), so many people REALLY enjoying themselves. We wernt aware the carnival was on this weekend .. but I'm glad it was. Civic Pride, its nice to see people caring about where they live.. rather than pissing on it.  Did a visit to Pooles Cavern as well .. havnt been there since I was Seven!

So to top off, Beautiful place, Beautiful wife, great people amazing food, a great weekend.
